There is no single, correct strategy when we play tournaments sit'go (SNG). When choosing a style of play in particular, it is important to determine its goals. Suppose that the SNG pays the top 3; are you happy to finish in any of these positions or do you intend to finish first?

Play to finish in the money

If finish to any position of the top three is your goal, you should play conservatively. You will see many players involved in the pot at the beginning of the part. In contrast to these players, you should stand on the sidelines and waiting to receive a very strong hand. If you have doubts about whether or not you have the best hand, stop to think and lay your game. In avoiding being in the first pots, chances are large for you that players be eliminated between them and you will be in a good position subsequently to slip into the top three. The negative side to this is that you thus reduce your chances to end up first. You will have approximately the same number of chips that when you begin, but some other players will have largely overtaken you, which place it in an advantageous position.

Another way of seeing things is to think of your chances to finish ninth or tenth. If you play to finish in the money and are not involved in starting hands, you will almost never finish ninth or tenth. Other players will usually take a few risks at the beginning and will eliminate between them before even that you have played a hand. You'll never be one of the losers in these confrontations of departure, nor one of those winners who will have for their part increased their chance of success.

Thus, by playing the waiting game, you can actually transform a SNG of 10 players in a seven or an eight. In this way, your chances of finishing in the top three will increase. But for other players who will be out not at the 10th and 9th position, the risk paid aura. They will now be in a better position to finish first. It is free for you to make the choice to take a few risks or not.

Play to finish first

There is no problem to adjust its strategy to allow you to finish more often first, as long as you understand that you will also end up ninth and tenth more often. But it is here that personal preference. Perhaps are you only satisfied with first places. No problem. So go there and play in a manner more Stuart and aggressive. Take more risks early on. Go head-to-head against those confrontations and those who are also at high risk. You finish the tournament very quickly, allowing you to quickly switch to an another SNG if you want, or you win the hand and will thus be in a good position.

If this happens and you intend to become the chip leader, other players will begin to fear you. They know that at any moment they come into confrontation with you, they will be in danger of losing all their chips since you covered them all. Conversely, you can play a hand against anyone without fear of ruining you. You will be able to bluff more often, put in all the players in your table, and in General, to be the captain of the table. You will see that it is a nice feeling.

To adjust to opponents

Play according to its objectives is important, but you must also know how to recognize for what your opponents play. I spoke earlier of the manner in which some players will simply bet and will take risks early. I take it for granted that four or five of your opponents will do it, because usually, this is what we see. For example, if four players tackle between them from the beginning, two eventually tenths and ninth and two become chip leaders. It is at this time that the table will deviate from its standard and is up to you to identify it and to adjust to the situation.

Most people, if they had the choice, would rather a table full of players wilds. I am among them. Unfortunately, the SNG are a little different from the regular cashgames. You cannot watch how players play before join you at the table. In a SNG, you should sit back and hope that players who had joined the table be easy opposition. But they are weak or pros, you must identify which is which as soon as possible. In this way, you will have a better idea of the strategy and can make the adjustments that are necessary.

For example, suppose that instead of the four players who take risks early, there are eight. First, consider yourself lucky to have found such a table. Secondly, if your first idea was to play to finish first, you need to reconsider your choice. There's a good chance that four or five of your opponents have bitten the dust before even that you're involved in a hand and you want to take advantage of this situation. In addition, with players taking many risks, you won't on your side to take unnecessarily. If you get a hand of first quality from the beginning of the game, this type of player will pay you amply. Why not wait this hand in question? You will become perhaps as the chip leader without making the slightest effort.

Contrast this full table with a tighter table. Instead of four players gamblers from the beginning, saying that this time is there are none. Ah what you are unlucky! You you are launched in a SNG though no player wants give advantage to anyone, but it's OK. Now, it's time for you to be the gambler. None of these players wants to take risk, it is therefore your duty of attacking them with updates and reminders, even with hands that are not particularly strong. Unless they receive a premium hand, they will stay out of your way. Their manner of play will give you the chance to accumulate chips gradually while they await their hand. Actually, if they receive a very strong hand, you can be eliminated quickly. But you will not increase your chances of finish on top playing wait your hands while everyone plays this game. You must therefore take a few risks and aim for the Summit, while all other players are only a top three.

On the other hand, it does not make much sense to sit down to wait for a hand of first quality: If the table is filled with tight players, you will probably not paid by none of them anyway! So take advantage of their way of playing and want the next SNG you play more players account that will be ready to take risks.
