SECTION 3 - GENERAL REGULATIONS
3.3 rules governing the dead hands (dead hands)

1. your hand is declared dead if:

(a) you fold your hand or announce that you fold to a bet or a raise.

(b) you throw your hand in a forward movement, causing another player to act behind you (even if you're not facing a bet).

(c) to the Stud, facing a bet, you pick up or return your cards open, or
shuffle your cards open and closed together.

(d) the hand does not contain the proper number of cards for the variant performed (except a hand of stud where the final map can be excluded, and the lowball and draw poker where a hand with missing maps can be considered as still in play). [See section 16 - explanations, discussion # 4, for more information on the Stud regulation.]

(e) your hand contains a joker in a game which does not (a player who acts on his hand without looking at one of his cards is itself responsible to find an inappropriate, as indicated in rule section #8 irregularities.)

(f) you are under the clock facing a bet or a raise and exceed the time limit.

2. cards thrown into the muck can be declared dead. However, a hand that is clearly identifiable may be retrieved if it is in the interest of the party. An extra effort should be made to recover the hand if it was thrown after bad information passed to the player.

3. cards thrown on another player died, whether they are against or upside down.
