BWIN in crusade against FullTilt and PokerStars

bwin.jpgSince 2006, the "Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act" prohibits many poker rooms to operate in the United States. Many rooms poker online like Bwin, PartyGaming and Betclic closed their door to the American market. But other rooms such as PokerStars and Full Tilt poker have decided to continue to conduct their operations and to climb to the top of the poker rooms online, to great jealousy of BWIN who wonders if she should not follow the example of Full Tilt and PokerStars and do not comply with this Act.

According to BWIN: "it is not through better marketing or a more advanced technology. "They [PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker] simply have hundreds of millions of dollars from a market that we consider as illegal."
This is why according to them that PokerStars has now 35 million accounts created on their site.

BWIN spokesman Norbert Teufelberger added: "we retreated, not them. But we will see who will be correct in the end. We believe still have been correct and that the decision will be easy. They may say that they are not operating illegally, I think that's what they do"

Some rooms could be licensed in the United States to operate legally. Franck Barney, an American Senator, takes care of the file for already several months. The model would draw on the French model. On the other hand, a clause concerned PokerStars: "companies or individuals who have intentionally ignored Act UIGEA prohibiting money games online may not apply for licences to operate legally in the USA if the law is adopted."

This is what makes say to BWIN would be "absolutely impossible" that Full Tilt Poker or PokerStars receive a license to operate legally in the United States. BWIN will do everything implemented so if such licenses are granted, PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker can legally receive.
