Earlier this week, PokerCollectif spoke you ofa new assessment published by the ARJEL.


These days, we learn yet other interesting information about this review. For example, did you know that 51% of all the poker updates are made by only 1% of players? We learn also that the number of active players accounts since the opening of the market is 2.6 million while the number of active players accounts in the first quarter of 2011 is 1.3 million. In all, the number of players accounts on .fr sites amounts to 3.5 million.

Of the three categories of paris (sports, horse racing, poker), this is clearly poker which has the most impressive evolution. Since 27 June, active poker players continues to grow while the sports bettors are constantly declining. Players from betting on them, are maintained.

Sports betting

Since the opening of the market, there is a total of 595 million euros of bets. Of this amount, 147 million euros of bets were recorded in the first quarter of 2011 compared with EUR 200 million in the 4th quarter of 2010. The share for bets on football represents 54% of the total, while tennis brings together 24%. The livebetting (betting in real time) represents 49% of the bets. Other sports represent approximately 20% of all bets.

From the opening of markets, per week, could save 26.1 million euros of bets per week. Today, that figure is down to 7.7 M euros. A considerable decrease.

Betting

Betting when their are a little more stable. Since June 2010, there was a total of 693 million euros of bets. The betting in the first quarter 2011 warnings amount to EUR 241 million, against EUR 240 million of 4th quarter 2010 updates. Since January 1, 2011, trot updates represent 65% of the total betting bets, Gallop having resumed early March 2011 season.

Since last November, betting maintain considerably.

Poker

As said earlier, poker is the most popular online gambling games.

Since July 2010, there was a cumulative amount of EUR 5 526 million (we must all times note that the calculation for this figure is quite controversial) of bets in cash-game and tournament starts EUR 683 million. Cumulative cash game warnings amount to EUR 921 million in the first quarter of 2011, compared with EUR 1 923 million in the 4th quarter of 2010.

Activity of the tournaments has risen by 4%, from 261 million euros in admission to the 4th quarter of 2010, to 271 million euros of admission in the first quarter of 2011.

Portrait of players

The population of punters sporting spring as being the youngest among the three activities regulated, since 41% of sports betting players have less than 25 years, compared with 25% for poker and 9% for betting. It is worth noting that 9% of betting online players have over 65 years compared to less than 1% for sports betting and poker.

The women they represent 11% of the total population of active accounts-players. 8% for sports betting, 9% for poker and 19% for betting. Interestingly, online players are predominantly younger than players online, and this, whatever the type of game.

Interesting statistics:

1% of players generate 51% of the total bets

10% of players generate 76 per cent of the total bets

61% of players from betting, 46% of betting players and 65% of the players of poker tournaments, bet less than € 100 per quarter

70% of the cash game players rely less than € 300 per quarter
