New in the world of poker, be aware that iPoker is division poker Playtech, a gaming software development company that was founded in 1999.

As a reminder, in 2012, Playtech had also been the first to try to obtain a license to operate legally in New Jersey.

PokerScout, iPoker is the 3rd largest poker network after PokerStars and 888poker

iPoker is divided into 2

In 2012, the network is divided into 2: iPoker 1 and iPoker 2.

For more details on this division, you can read the article that we had published in September 2012 for this purpose.

Basically, if you play with cash games 50nl and more, you should play on iPoker 1, division ends William Hill to name the best-known poker room of the network.

New way to treat the rake on iPoker

Since the new year, iPoker has changed several things about his rake. First, see some examples to give you an idea of the rake in pay.

For Pot Limit and No Limit tables €0.10/€0.20 up to €0.25/€0.50, if there are two players on the table, you will pay €0.01 for every €0.20 in the pot. The maximum rake will be €1.

If there are 3 or 4 players, same thing, but with a rake caped €2. From 5 players or more, same principle, but with a rake caped at €3.

With respect to the 100nl until the NL1000, if there are two players on the table, you pay €0.05 of rake for each €1 in the pot up to a maximum of €1 in rake. If there are 3 or 4 players on the table, you pay €0.05 of rake for each €1 in the pot up to a maximum of €2. And finally, if there are 5 players or more on the table, the principle remains the same and the rake is caped at €3.

Note that if you hand ends before the flop, no matter the size of the pot, you pay a rake of €0.

Source Based Rake

The news appeared about 4 months ago and did much chat on Twoplustwo discussion forum.

iPoker then announced the introduction from 1 January 2015 for a new policy with respect to its rake: the "Source Based Rake". Basically, it's a new way to share the revenues between the different skins (different rooms of the same network) iPoker.

The traditional model was based on the rake paid by each player. In other words, a room 1 A player plays a pot against a room 2 B. The hand ends and a $ 2 rake is taken. With the old method of calculation, room 1 and room 2 had the same income as the two players were paid the same rake ($ 1 each).

Which meant that rooms poker with players to large volumes generated big incomes even if these players were seldom (winners because) deposits.

With the new system, the merit will be greater for a room that recruits players who do a lot of deposits (the poker economy depends on these deposits).

To continue our example above, if the player has is a big regular winner and player B is a new applicant who has just lost a pot, Room 2 (on which player B play) will have a greater part of the rake as room 1.

This change will be invisible to the players and will not affect the rake that you will pay in cash games or tournaments. This method will encourage the poker rooms get more new applicants (from the new money in the ecosystem).

In your opinion, is this a good thing for the players? For all players? This new method who benefits the most? Do you have alternatives to suggest?
