Yahoo Poker, future leader of online poker?

Is Yahoo will become a big player in the future of online poker? This is what many have wondered last week when Yahoo introduced his online poker room.

For now, you can play with real money virtual, but if other States in the United States legalize online poker and that Yahoo was awarded a license to operate, it could well be the rival to giants Amaya and 888 Holdings.

If Yahoo wanted to make the transition to the poker with real money, it would state-by-State since currently, as we know, only three States in the us accept the poker online (Delaware, New Jersey, Nevada).

According to Marc Edelman of Forbes magazine, it would be the best strategy.

“The new Yahoo Texas hold’em portal could be easily monetized if the legal environment were to become more favorable,” writes Edelman, an Associate Professor of Law at the City University of New York’s Baruch College. “Yahoo also could apply for licenses to operate their online casino with cash prizes in the limited number of states that have already legalized online casino gaming, such as Delaware, New Jersey, and Nevada.”
