2011 WSOP - Performance bright of Quebecers--summary of June 19

wsop-2011-braceletAn exciting day and removing took place yesterday at the 2011 WSOP for Quebec. Quebecers have performed in two events of Hold'em no limit: the #32 event and the #34 event. Two Quebecers are in an excellent position to make a final table in the #32 event, and the remains of 8 Quebec to the #34 event, including Christopher 'D0rit0s' McClung (who also gave an interview to PokerCollectif before his departure for the WSOP. See it here: interview with Christopher McClung, aka D0rit0s).
Here is the summary and results of June 19 of the 2011 WSOP.

Event #29 (10-Game Mix - 6max $ 2500) - an end unsurprisingly
There remained only three players for this last day of hostilities. Chris Lee led to Brian Haveson and Travis Pearson, and the day quickly ended the same way it began: Chris 'Genius28' Lee was able to maintain its lead and win top honors, behind Vanessa (2nd place) and Pearson (3rd place).
Pearson was quickly eliminated from the second hand of the day. An hour later, it is Vanessa who was eliminated by Lee. The latter won $ 254 955 and a prestigious WSOP bracelet.

Event #30 (No-Limit Hold'Em for 'Seniors' $ 1000)-the youngest seniors won.
The minimum age required to participate in this Championship for seniors was 50 years. We can say that Jim Hess took advantage of this to maximum advantage. This California 50-year-old was the youngest player at the final table, and there su quickly impose the tone to capture his first WSOP bracelet.
The pace of this final table was rather slow, with only two players eliminated during the first few hours. But the increase in the size of the blinds and the aggressive game of Hess was enough to exert enough pressure on the rest of the table so Hess is able to win $ 557 435.

Event #31 (Pot-Limit Omaha at $ 3000)
It is in took little that players must return for a 4th day. After a second day which was supposed to go up to the final table but stopped by with not less than 25 players remaining and a start of day yesterday which was particularly slow before making the first victims, expected the tournament to take an extra day so that a winner is announced. But a rapid succession of elimination has been so Sam Stein has been victorious as the sun began to rise over Las Vegas.
Yet once again, the order of the previous day was preserved: Sam Stein, Benjamin Lamb, and Warren Fund finished respectively ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd, while they had begun the day at these positions.
Sam Stein won $ 420 802. It's his first bracelet at the world series, even though Stein has already won more than 3 million gain in career.

Event #32 (No-Limit Hold'Em at $ 1500)-Performance eclantante for our Quebec
Among the 362 players back for the day #2, the eyes of Quebec were turned to Marc - Etienne McLaughlin (General Irish), Pierre-Marc Chadi, Eric Cloutier and Gabriel Houle-Morin (GabyGaby).
The day was excellent for our Quebec players: they all appeared well entrenched. It was only, in 116th place that the first of them was eliminated. Éric Cloutier won $ 4199 for his performance. Then, Pierre - Marc Cedillo was the second to be eliminated in 64th place, what brings him $ 7406.
The two heroes of the day were undoubtedly Gabriel Houle-Morin (GabyGaby) and Marc - Etienne McLaughlin (General Irish). GabyGaby was able to enjoy his stack of barely 20,000 tokens to change huge mats of 624,000. It passes so 252nd place to tied for 4th place.
On the side of our Irish general, the day is equally impressive: he has been able to increase his stack of 57 000 tokens to 588,000 tokens, thus placing it in 8th place.
The two remaining Quebecers are therefore in an excellent position to reach the final table while it remains that 35 players and all are now assured of a minimum grant of $ 12,675. The 35 remaining players compete for the sum of $ 668 276 and the much coveted bracelet.

Event #33 (Championship 7-card Stud Hi-Low 8 - or - better than $ 10,000)-no chance for Duhamel, but two french finish in the top 5 of the day.
Of the 168 players register, 127 players were back for this second day of hostilities. Only Quebecer join this tournament, Jonathan Duhamel (Poker_John) had been able to survive the first day. Unfortunately for him, he did not arrive to know the same fate on this second day. He had to bow after a few hours of play, to the 80th row and away from the 16 paid places.
Two french are still among the 18 remaining players: David Benyamine at the 2nd row and Antony Lellouche 5th. The final table is likely to be strong interesting, since many known faces are still present on the 18 remaining players. It is particularly the case of Phil Hellmuth Jr. (7th), John Racener (ranked 9th), Ted Forrest (10th row), Phil Laak (ranked 11th), Erik Seidel (ranked 12th), Bill Chen (13th), Justin ' Boosted I Smith (14th), Cindy Violette (17th) and Jon 'PearlJammer' Turner (18th). The leader of the day, Eric Rodawig, will be hard to do. It is nevertheless almost assured of the best performance of his career (he had won $ 38 471 in 2009), and could get their hands on $ 442 183.

Event #34 (Hold' no limit to $ 1000)-Christopher 'Doritos' McClung 2nd!
A $ 1000 No.-limit Hold'em event ' Em: that is enough to run the crowds. It is therefore no surprise that 3144 players are presented for this event, including more than 30 from Quebec.
The first day will be made almost 90% of victim, while it remains that 323 players and that all are insured to at least $ 1895. The day was particularly auspicious for Christopher 'D0rit0s' McClung, who finished the day in second place with an impressive carpets of 114,100.
Not less than 8 Quebecers are still in contention. In addition to D0rit0s second, we find Jeff Hakim ranked 71st, Adam Carter ranked 99th, Gabriel 'rouliroul' roll ranked 112th, Marc Carpenter Perrault ranked 141st, Ludovic 'theplux' Lachance ranked 178th, Randall Zane at the 214th rank and Nadine Coulombe ranked 279th.
The action will resume today. Good luck to Quebecers still in contention.

To watch today:
-Gabriel 'GabyGaby' swell-Morin and Marc-Étienne General Irish McLaughlin who aspire to a final table... and even a potential bracelet with the #32 event.
-8 Quebecers to #34, including D0rit0s event which is now in the 2nd place.
