2011 WSOP - and the nine finalists are...

wsop-2011-braceletThey were 6865 participants... they are now only 9! Sign that the wave of poker is at the global level, no less than seven countries will be represented: the Ireland, England, the Czech Republic, the Ukraine, the Germany, Belize and the United States.

But before submit you the 9 finalists, let's talk about this last day before the final table. Anton Makiievskyi began the day with a head start on his opponents... but the day was still a bit difficult for him. Although he has finally been able to survive yesterday, he finished with more than 6 m less in chips (him in is a little less than 14 m, making it the eighth-largest).

With all the players who were trying to not be the player passing to a hair of the final table (and many sponsors!), the action became particularly aggressive while there remained only 11 players, so we saw many 3bet, 4bet... and even all-in-5bet.
It finally is the last Canadian in contention, Khoa Nguyen, who was the victim while his pair of 10 ended up against the King of Martin Staszkopair.

Then, the players found themselves on the "unofficial" final table with 10 players, and the game has slowed considerably. All recalled that last year, it took 6 hours of play from 10 to 9 players... This time, it was a bit faster and the unfortunate to leave in the 10th position is John Hewitt. Although Hewitt missing little final table, it can nevertheless consolation watching the prize pool of $ 607 882 has just win.

The leader in chips is no Martin Staszko (40 m), followed by Eoghan O'Dea (34 m), then Matt Giannetti (25 m), Phil Collins (24 m), Benjamin Lamb (21 m), Badih Bounahra (20 m), Pius Heinz (16.5 m), Anton Makiievskyi (14 m) and Samuel Holden (12 m).

The action will therefore resume in November, while it remains still nearly 35 minutes to level 36 (blinds at 250 k / 500 k with 50 k in antes) and that the button will be in seat 9.
Seat 1: Matt Giannetti (24,750,000)
Seat 2: Badih Bounahra (19,700,000)
Seat 3: Eoghan O'Dea (33,925,000)
