2011 WSOP - four Quebecers still in contention. Summary of June 15

Event #22 (Pot-Limit Omaha at $ 1,500) - a second bracelet for the France.

Two bracelets in two events for the France. After the performance of Elky to the #21 event, that compatriot Elie Payan won a bracelet to the #22 event.
After arriving late at the start of the final table (he missed the first round of table), Elie Payan was able to climb as a point guard at the beginning of the headsup. The struggle has been difficult and he and Rafe Kibrit is are repeatedly exchanged the advantage of tokens.
Elie Payan nevertheless could complete his excellent work in eliminating later Rafe Kibrit, thus winning a bracelet and the tidy sum of $ 292 825.

Event #23 (Eight Games mix at $ 2500) - John Monnette WINS
With 25 players remaining, many expect a great performance by Eric Buchman and John Juanda, two having already a WSOP bracelet and having already made this year a final table players. John Racener could also get their hands on a first bracelet of the WSOP, who finished 2nd year passed to the WSOP main event.
These three players have reached the final table; Racener is however inclined in 8th place ($24 797), while Juanda eliminated a little later in 6th place ($42 897). On the side of Eric Buchman, he found himself in headsup with John Monnette. Unfortunately for Buchman, Monnette was able to dominate with only 18 minutes to the clock before the "10-level stop rules" (forcing the match to stop as soon as 10 levels have been played).
John Monnette wins a first WSOP bracelet and $ 278 144.

Event #24 (No-Limit Hold'Em Shootout $ 5000)-Jean - François Talbot (2easy) out.
Jean-Francois '2easy' Talbot was the only Quebecer having won his #1 game. He was now out winner of a table of 4 players, consisting of Joseph Elpayaa, Gavin Smith and Dan Smith. Things are are quickly squandered for Talbot, while its pair of 9 ended up against the pair of ladies of Gavin Smith (all in preflop). A little later, because Talbot bow against Joseph Elpayaa while he found himself again all in preflop with a dominated hand (A6 vs. AT).
Jean-François Talbot (2easy) won $ 13,368 for 35th place. Gavin Smith or Joseph Elpayaa was able to capitalize on the supported tokens in Talbot, since this is Daniel Smith who won the victory on this table.
The action will resume today while the Ten finalists will compete on the same table. The 10 players are guaranteed a minimum $ 28 447, while the winner receives $ 436 568.

Event #25 (Seven Card Stud Hi - Low 8-or-better)-Jonathan Duhamel out.
The situation was less precarious for Jonathan Duhamel at the beginning of day, while it was ranked 160th on the 172 remaining players. Unfortunately for him, he had to pack up quickly enough, out of paid places... which still gave him the time to register for the next event!
The action resumes today when there are only 23 players. Cory Zeidman is leading, while Norman Chad (ESPN columnist) is in 4th place. The champion defending David Warga is also on the number, more of Mike Sexton, Karina Jett (she made the final table last year), Cindy Violette and Kristy Gazes.

Event #26 (Hold'Em no limit - 6max $ 2500)-four Quebecers still in contention.
No fewer than 19 Quebecers on 1378 participants join the event to Hold'Em Shorthanded. While 189 will be back today, can be found among lot 4 québécois: Pascal Lefrancois (Pass_72) ranked 36th. René Angélil 57th ranked; Sean Grover to the 94th rank and Gylbert Drolet in 105th place.
The first 126 positions will reap a minumum $ 5235. At the dawn of the day #2, it is American Tyler Cornell, which stands at the forefront. Some french players are also always present and will try to offer a third bracelet this year to the France.

Event #27 (Limit Hold'Em Championship $ 10,000)-Daniel Negreanu leads the ball
Finally, Limit Hold'Em smiled at Daniel Negreanu. Daniel 'Kid Poker' Negreanu is looking for a third bracelet in Limit Hold'Em (and 5th bracelet in total), and after a single day of play, he sits at the forefront. After the meeting, he announced (translation): those who doubt about the secret solution question more. It works. It's time to win this tournament!"... it was however not clear that she was its secret solution, but it seems to work!
The only Quebecer if be register to the event, Erik Cajelais, is also good situated on the 6th.

The action will resume today, while there is still plenty of action to do since there are 111 players on the 152 initial participants.

To watch today:
-Pascal Lefrancois (Pass_72), René Angélil, Sean Grover and Gylbert Drolet in the #26 event.
-Daniel Negreanu at the #27 event, and the Québécois Erik Cajelais
-Start of the #28 event (No Limit Hold'Em $ 1500) which should draw a monster crowd (including several Quebecers)
-Beginning of another mixed event (event #29), where participants must master not less than 10 variants.
