2011 WSOP - summary 6 June

This is the summary of June 6 for Quebec.

 

#8 event (NLHE 1 k): Ca rolls for Duhamel
Things are going well for Duhamel at the #8 event (NLHE 1 k) while it remains more than 60 players. After finishing in 16th place on day 1A, never had to look behind the Matchday 2 and has increased his stack of 45 000 to 250 000, which puts it in 14th position. The following québécois is rather a Quebec: Odette Tremblay. Well known Quebec tournament circuit, the sympathetic Odette is the wife of André Boyer, the first québécois de history to win a WSOP bracelet. She finished the day a 149,000 tokens, which puts it in 37th place. Not far behind, Gabriel Rouleau (rouliroul) follows in 39th position with 147 000.Et directly in 40th place is Jonathan Driscoll (Da_Engineer) with 139,000. Among the dozen of Quebecers who were able to qualify for day 2, Gabriel Houle Morin (GabyGaby) finished in 137th position for a gain of $ 3308; Guillaume Fréchette finished in 209th position for a gain of $ 2820. The others were eliminated out of paid places.
Popular player online 'Pearljammer' which stands at the top after day 2, having accumulated a stack of 749,000!
The action will resume today, the Quebecers will have 4 contenders for a WSOP bracelet.

Event #9 (2-7 Draw lowball 1.5 k): Matt Perrins will have learned quickly
Two days earlier, Matt Perrins knew nothing about this variant. He settled for quickly watching 30 minutes of videos on youtube. His first 2-7 draw lowball hand, was played at the WSOP event. Nevertheless, it was enough for him to win a pool of 275 players.
Perrins admitted that he was not too sure about what he was doing during the first levels, but there gradually master the part. Perrins won over $ 100,000... and announced that it would participate in the event $ 10,000 2-7 draw lowball!

#10 event (NLHE-6handed 1. 5 k):
Several Quebec were among the 1920 entrants to this no-limit Hold'em event ' em in shorthanded (6-max). It is unfortunately only 5 on 188 players remaining. Of this number, Marc - Etienne Mclaughlin (General Irish) is in the best position: it is ranked 28th. It is followed closely by Alandre Gauron (34th) and Sean Grover (38th). More later in the lot, Marc - Étienne Blais (aka Marke, 98th ranked) and Marc Dupré (104th).
The action will resume for them today, while there are only 188 players (180 cashes).

Event #11 (Omaha Hi-Low 10 k): A single Quebecer... but it is 3rd!
202 players took part in the event $ 10,000 Omaha Hi / Lo, or 10 less than last year. Only Quebec took part in the event: Guillaume Rivet (SixZeros). Although it is the only one, cannot say SixZeros to be intimidated so far: after a day of play, Rivet is 3rd to 95,900 chips, just behind Eric Buchman (108,800) and Fabrizio Gonzalez (117 300).
The action resumes today while Rivet will attempt to better his 15th place at the event in Omaha hi-low 1.5 k earlier last week.
