Event #54 No Limit Hold'em ($1000) - final Duel today!

This tournament will end finally today rather than yesterday. At this stage, there are still 2 players ready to compete today for the bracelet.

It is still in the American Will Jaffe race which has 5.3 M of tokens and Brazilian Luis Campelo which has 4.2 M tokens.

The race should be very tight for the bracelet.

The winner will receive $ 500,075 and a player who finished 2nd will have to settle for $ 309,429.

The action will resume at 4 pm today time Quebec!

Event #55, The Big One for One Drop! -The magician wins the tournament!

The final table of this prestigious tournament was played yesterday! We had already excludes a player, Mike Sexton, who was leaving his home with 1, 1 M$ to keep only 8 players for this last day of play.

The action was intense and some businessmen mingled with the pros!

Richard Yong was eliminated in earlier in the day, to finish eighth and win 1, $2M. Then came the turn to Bobby Baldwin (Bobby's Room of Bellagio, it told you something?) who finished 7th for 1. 4 M$.

Brian Rast who has long been leader chips finished in 6th place for a purse of 1, $6M.

Was then 5 players: Antonio Esfandiari (poker pro), Sam Trickett (poker pro), David Einhorn (businessman from New York), Phil Hellmuth (poker pro) and Guy Laliberté (founder of the Cirque du Soleil).

Here it became really important given bills in scholarships. For example, the 4th position paid 2.6 M whereas the 2nd paid 10. 1 M$. Bills between the awards became huge.

It was Guy Laliberté that came out 5th when that its QQ did not good against the AK of Esfandiari. Phil Hellmuth released 4th extremely disappointed, as you can imagine. He still won't be ashamed before 3 billionaires who need money after this tournament!

David Einhorn was then shortstack and was released shortly after to finish third and win 4. 3 m$.

The final duel did not last very long. In the final hand, Esfandiari has 570 on Jd-5 d-5 c and call the all-in of Trickett who pushed with Qd6d, a draw to the flush. The tournament and the river gave 2 saved cards and Esfandiari became the richest fellow in the history of the WSOP by winning 18, 3 m$.

Meanwhile, we will rarely seen a man too disappointed to have won 10, 1 M$ as Sam Trickett.

The magician also won a bracelet that a friend of Guy Laliberté made. Antonio held fast to give the bracelet to his father. A very moving scene to see!

Another big winner in this tournament is the One Drop fondaction who garnered 5.3 million dollars with this tournament. As you know, each player had to remit $ 111,111 to the One Drop Foundation by participating in this tournament and so only $888,889 went into the final prizepool!

A great success as this tournament!
