Marc-Étienne "Irish" McLaughlin finished 6th in the Main Event

It was yesterday evening in Las Vegas that played the final of the prestigious World Series of Poker Main Event . On this table, 9 players would compete for the title and the 8, 6 M$ allocated to the champion.

Among the participants, a highly respected member of our community was present: Marc - Etienne McLaughlin, nicknamed "Irish", "GénéralIrish", or the "tattoo artist" by TV commentators.

Quickly in the tournament, Marc-Étienne saw bad luck knocking on his door while he lost with KK against the Mark Newhouse QQ all in preflop. But it has not prevented the Irish young relatively quickly recover lost tokens (and exceeded its original carpet).

Still, Mark Newhouse was the first eliminated from the tournament for a prize of $ 733,244.

After the eliminations of David Benefield and Michiel Brummelhuis, action has long been 6-handed.

Irish had an aggressive image on the table and few players wanted to risk playing hands against him. Antonio Esfandiari which analysed the tournament on TSN2 wave description of player "tricky", able to do any game at any time. Marc-Étienne has even benefited from some "walk" in the evening (it is at these times that his fans and friends were chanting "Larry Walker", which was not without smile McLaughlin).

It was while he remained more than 6 players that the big hand of the evening was played by McLaughlin while he made himself serve KK against the AA of Jay Farber. After several preflop raise, two players are all-in, unfortunately, table changed nothing to the value of the hands and Marc-Étienne was eliminated from the tournament.

A large cooler crève-coeur to McLaughlin that ends so 6th for a purse of 1, $6M. Despite this sad hand, McLaughlin expresses very satisfied with his tournament (although he would have liked that the gods of poker are the venue for this time) where all agree he played very solid poker.

Recall that in 2009, he finished 30th in the same tournament for a scholarship of $ 253,941 and 2011, 86th for a purse of $ 76,146. As he has stated in an interview, "every 2 years, I have a good run in the Main Event".

In summary, the final table awards are as follows:

1st - TBD - $ 8,570 631

2nd - TBD - $ 5 174 357
