NZ Poker will attempt to beat the record of Phil Laak in November

recordguiness.jpgIn November, at the Grand hotel of Wanganui in New Zealand, a group of New Zealanders named NZ Poker will attempt to beat the record of Phil Laak inscribed in the book of records Guinness.

Their goal is to play more than 115 hours of poker to beat the current record. These 80 New Zealand players will start with a stack of 20,000 chips. The blinds will be 100/200 and will increase when the record will be broken. The date for this long session of poker is November 22. The tournament will be like $ 20 buy-in and redemptions will be unlimited. On the sidelines of the "main event" will be played other parts as for cash games and other tournaments.

Each player will receive 5 minutes of rest per hour. If a player decides not to take his break, it can implement the reserve to take a longer break a little later.

So this record is valid, several rules must be followed. For example, breaks for eating must not be too long. Obviously, drugs are not permitted. Any player who does not follow these rules or which, for example, would be under the effect of alcohol, will be expelled from the tournament without possible discussion.

The holder of the current record for the longest game of poker, Phil Laak, had beat a previous record of 78 hours of play remaining 115 hours at a table at the Bellagio. At the event, Phil Laak was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and smoked goggles which earned him d be nicknamed "The Unambomber", in reference to a U.S. terrorist zipper.

At the event, he said: "to stay awake, should be walking his brain and stay active. I stretched many times. "I l have taken as a game". During his challenge, Phil took a meal prepared by his nutritionist every five hours. A doctor came regularly check his State of health.

All profits from the event will be offered to two charities including the Make A Wish Foundation and the Starship Children's Hospital .
