Some details about the 2011 WSOP

wsop-2011

This is already PokerCollectif players who intend to participate in the WSOP tournaments 2011 have started since some time in planning their trip to Las Vegas. This is why PokerCollectif would now bring some details about these world series of poker.

Last Wednesday, the Executive Director of the World Series of Poker (WSOP), Ty Stewart and Tournament Director Jack Effel, held the conference call to inform of the novelties of this year and answering the questions of journalists. Some interesting innovations are noted.

First thing to note, some new tournaments. Will be among them the Triple Chance of Hold'em no-limit, a $ 1500 tournament, a tournament Pot Limit Omaha shorthanded (6max) to $ 5,000, a Hold'em World Championship Tournament ' 6max who may be interested in more than one on our forums (the buy is 10,000 for this tournament) and a special tournament includes 10 variants, the 10-Game Mix $ 2500 cost of entry. Badugi which is a fairly unknown variant among poker players will be among the variants.

With regard to objectives, Mr Stewart and Effel hope to attract as many if not more people than last year. They hope that the 7000 satellites organized by the Rio Casino will attract as many people as possible. It is estimated that 15% of people who participate in WSOP tournaments access through satellite tournaments. Chris Moneymaker, the year he won the main event, had also won his seat through a satellite on PokerStars tournament.

As sponsors, we find former regulars and new names. Among them, Shuffle Master providing Brewers cards, Dearfoam Slippers, Miller who will take the opportunity to enhance their products Miller Lite and Miller's Milwaukee's Best. Jack Link's Beef Jerky will still sponsor this year as well as Red bull and Bicycle Playing Cards.

The WSOP will be broadcast again this year on the network ESPN from 26 July 2011 until 9 November for the grand finale with the final table of the Main Event of Hold'em without limits.

Another interesting novelty Grudge Matches. What is Grudge Match? A duel, however the most famous duel of the WSOP. For now, two of the three duels have already been decided. Take a few seconds to guess which?

The first will be that of 1989 between Phill Hellmuth against Johnny Chan and the second, the one between Chris Moneymaker against Sammy Farha, dual dating back to 2003. The third duel will be chosen by the public. A Facebook page should be online soon where people from the public will be able to vote. PokerCollectif will provide you with the address of this page when it becomes known.

Another novelty to report: the prohibition to use the Internet when you are in a hand. Using its smart phone for Twitter will be strictly forbidden. You can enjoy the Internet connection in the corridors of the Rio, but not when you are involved in a hand.

In closing, mentioned you yesterday, but a little reminder for those who have not seen the article: several WSOP final tables will be streamed on the Internet. In total, 58 final tables will be broadcast on the Internet. Good news for the railers and stakeurs which could not, for one reason or another, to go directly to Las Vegas.
