15 people arrested in a common gaming house in Laval

The story was reported by the Journal de Montréal. Last Wednesday, 12 men and three women were arrested at Laval in a common gaming house say illegal.

The arrests took place at 1731 Cunard Street. On-site, documents, money and gaming equipment were seized, in addition to a few bottles of contraband tobacco and alcohol.

"It was also a place which acted as a Speakeasy," said Frédéric Jean, Laval police spokesman.

One of 15 people will be charged with keeping a common gaming house.

The individuals in question are linked to any criminal group. The operation (called padlock) follows an investigation which began in 2013 thanks to information provided by the public.
