Documentary: Boom or the incredible story of poker online

This week, Ryan Firpo published on Twoplustwo the first trailer of the project to which it participates with Jay Rosenkrantz and Taylor Caby, BOOM, the incredible story of poker online. Before going further, you can see this trailer if it has already done:

BOOM is a collective project and this trio work for a few months already between other projects. Jay Rosenkrantz (KRANTZ on the tables at Full Tilt Poker, one of the most formidable players heads-up highstakes) is behind The microphones series which we have spoken several times on PokerCollectif. Taylor Caby and Ryan Firpo are the guys behind From Busto to Robusto, a documentary series (to date, this "series" doesn't count as 2 documentaries) on portraits of talented poker players). For those who have not seen them, you can watch them on Youtube:

Comments are very complimentary about this series.

To return to BOOM, the documentary on the history of online poker should be out somewhere in 2012. The authors did not want to specify more on this subject. They only mention that there was much work to be done and that the suggestions of the members were welcome.

They also launched an appeal to all for the suggestions. If you have ideas for them, you can write to them at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. They invite you also to love their Facebook page and to disseminate information to the most people possible. You will see this page at the following address: http://www.facebook.com/BoomDocumentary

Earlier, Jay described his project as follows: "we want to use key events to process the evolution of online poker and examine its impact on the lives of many players in the world. This will be a film about the quest for freedom through the ups and downs of professional gambling. "We really want to capture the spirit of the past, the current climate and shed light on the way we see things evolve".

The authors have lately had the obligation to add a chapter that was at the base not foreseen in this Book: the black friday episode. This is probably an event that will delay the date of initial release of this documentary.
Several personalities from the world of poker are interviewed in this documentary: Barry Greenstein, Matt Savage, Mike Sexton and other players in online poker.

We will therefore wait with impatience the exit of this promising work.

In the meantime, discuss this news on PokerCollectif forums: documentary: Boom or the incredible story of poker online
