Masterclass for Poker Phil Gordon 2.0!

The oldest remember Phil Gordon. Probably they even learned to play with his little green book on poker, a book that many beginners have read with great interest. Several players even call it as one of the best poker books they read.

But, today, the parties have changed since the publication of the books of Phil Gordon. The parties are more aggressive, players are better and the tools to help them much more numerous.

six years after the publication of this book, it is here according to the author of an "update with the new standards of the game", an extension of the previous trilogy by rethinking certain ways to play.

But that is what poker 2.0? According to Phil, it's the tools that are available on a large scale now (Heads Up Display or HUD, software range as PokerStove analysis, simulation engines). These software were not available there is not so long ago, at the beginning of the poker boom. Phil Gordon discusses their correct use and analyses that they allow. This is exactly what Phil calls Poker 2.0.

In October 2011, Phil has therefore published a book more up-to-date on poker with its Phil Gordon's Little Gold Book: Advanced Lessons for Mastering Poker 2.0.

A few months ago, the book came out in English translation under the name "Masterclass for Poker 2.0".

In the part on the Hold'em (because there is also a section on the Omaha) discusses the concept of ranges of hands, the evolution of the game preflop, flop, turn, on the river, how to play against this or that type of opponent or in this or that situation, 3bet, 4bet, 5bet, etc. There is even a passage on the 6 bet Recalling hand between Joseph and Jonathan at the Main Event of the WSOP in 2010.

The fourth chapter is devoted entirely to the Omaha. It is a part quite basic, but interesting if you have never read book on the PLO.

The fifth part is devoted to the metagame (history between the players, multiple degrees of reflection that can take each hand, bluff, etc).

A chapter is also reserved for bankroll management, essential for success in the poker world.

The last part finally is in fact to exchanges between Gordon and Galfond (Galfond has been the coach of OLP to Phil Gordon), Obrestad and Cates, discussing examples of hands and practical cases (in PLO to Galfond, table of NLHE FR for Obrestad, and heads-up for Cates).

Phil Gordon ends himself with his comments on many hands he was able to play hands that according to him have all learned something.

The book is available in the original English and French in hard copy and in electronic version for the original English version only for the moment.
