Molly's Game: everything about the poker highstakes of Hollywood parties

In recent years, PokerCollectif talked to you about several "underground" parties that took place in Hollywood, involving celebrities of cinema such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Tobey Macguire.

Today, we learn that Molly "The Poker Princess" Bloom will publish a book entitled "Molly's Game" in which she learn us more about these poker games. According to her, the public already rendered stories are just the tip of the iceberg and his book will reveal many others.

Andy Beal; one of the biggest losers of these evenings

Among these stories, one had been made public in 2011 so that Andy "The Banker" Beal had been invited to a tournament private 1 m $ buy-in. During the evening, Beal there had lost more than 50 M$.

Among the winners of the evening, Tobey "The Shark" Maguire, who, according to Molly Bloom, is one of the biggest sharks of Hollywood. According to her, it is a level above the other players. Phil Ivey is also one of the players who took advantage of the hemorrhage of Beal.

During these parties, the blinds could go up to $100K / $200K.

Andy Beal vs The Corporation

Andy Beal is a financier who made his fortune in banking and real estate. In addition to be very gifted in math, he qualified as a good poker player.

Its objective was to prove that even the best players in the world have a psychological limitation with the money. In other words, if the best player in the world plays at too high levels, it will be uncomfortable and will not play his A game. According to Beal (billionaire), it could take advantage of this principle. He therefore wanted to challenge any player to "nosebleed" limits.

Therefore, several players highstakes decided to put their bankroll in common to form 'The Corporation' (Phil Ivey, Johnny Chan, Doyle Brunson, Todd Brunson, Jennifer Harman, Gus Hansen, Howard Lederer, Chip Reese and a few others) and face Beal heads-up.

The heads-up between Beal and The Corporation resulted in a deficit of Beal's 50 M$, even if according to the, "the figures are not accurate". Whatever it is, Beal had its worst day of poker life.

Molly's Game, to be issued in June

As a reminder, Molly Bloom has already been accused (and pleaded guilty) of parts of poker highstakes illegally.

The book should appear on June 24 and will be available on Amazon.
