FreePokerDB - hud and statistics

Software statistics & HUDs

Most serious poker players use a statistical software combined with a HUD (heads-up Display). Through these programs, players are measures to monitor their results and to accumulate statistics on each of their opponents.

Generally, two reasons that a player does not use this kind of software: either that they do not know the existence, or that they do not want to pay between $ 50-150 to buy software like Hold'Em Manager or PokerTracker.

Now, players wishing to not reach into their wallet can, free of charge, use FreePokerDB (fpdb). FPDB is a (free!) "Open-Source" type software.
FPDB allows users to do the same thing with HoldEm Manager or PokerTracker, some options significantly less. You can thus recognise your important statistics and those of your opponents, and even use the HUD to display statistics as real on the tables where you play... and this, absolutely free!

FPDB is not as "user friendly" than its counterparts and may take you a little more time to install and is not as aesthetic that can be competitors, but the result is nevertheless impressive for such free software. FPDB is a particularly interesting program for micro limits players wishing to take advantage of the HUD and statistics software without having to pay a single penny. Just that a little patience for any properly configure.

Technical details:
As with all database software, FPDB must work together with external database software. While PokerTracker works with MySQL and HoldEmManager works with PosgreSQL, FPDB uses priority SQLite, but supports also MySQL and PostgreSQL; expert users can therefore use something other than SQLite (database manager more basic) if they wish.

Once the database software installed, just go under "Database", then "create or re-create tables". Once the database created table, you have to import hands (because at the moment, your database will be empty). Simply click on 'Import', and then configure the auto-import correctly and/or import a specific file. Make sure to put the correct "filter" (if you import Fulltilt Poker hands, put the "site filter" at Fulltilt Poker).
Subsequently, with the 'viewer' tab, you will be able to view some statitstiques (under Player Stars, for example).Simply add your username to see some of your stats like VPIP, PFR, 3bet, aggression factor, aggression frequency, continuation bet, steals, the rake paid, your profit/loss, and much more!
You can then configure the HUD. To do so, click IMPORT, and then auto-import & HUD. Select the directories where the hand histories manually if FPDB failed to locate them.

Via the FPDB site, you can learn how to edit your HUD and optimize it according to your needs. You will also find answers to your questions. Gradually, FPDB bear more in addition to poker sites. At the time of its writing, hold'em no limit was supported on already many sites (PokerStars, FullTilt Poker, PartyPoker, Everleaf, BossMedia, Cereus, Ongame, Merge, Winamax). Some variants like stud, razz, 5-card draw and other mixed games are also supported on some sites. As the software is one of "open-source" type, you can even help your favorite site is supported!
