A cold shower for the app

manifestation-ppa-ease-the-debt-let-us-betWith a participation of 50 to 75 participants according to the USAToday, the rally held last Tuesday by the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) to attract the attention of the media on the fate of poker players after the events of April 15 (Black Friday) must be considered a disappointment major both for the players than for the PPP as an organization.

With more than one million members, the PPP has failed to attract 50 participants to their rally, in spite that this rally was announced for some weeks already and that online poker has experienced its worst attack since the UIGEA in 2006.

The rally was nonetheless a few speakers pro-poker, including John Campbell and Joe Barton (respectively of the Republicans of the State of Texas and the State of California). Several other speakers were present at the event, including Linda Johnson (Women's Poker Hall of Fame), Greg Raymer (the Main Event of the 2004 WSOP Champion), and president and former Senator Alphonse D'Amato.

However, some questions remain: with the low turnout at the rally, is that online poker legislation is really a major concern among voters? Is that the app is really the best organization to represent players? Or is it simply a confirmation of the prejudice that poker players are lazy? Whatever the case, he fact remains that poker players, nor the app came out winners of this rally.
