PartyPoker blocks access to 18 countries in Europe and South America

PartyPoker blocks access to 18 countries in Europe and South America. Selon email received by bwin.party, new players from 18 countries in Europe and South America will no longer register on bwin.party! New listings will be blocked as of April 30! Accounts already opened will remain open and the commissions will continue to be paid in these accounts. Several of these countries have recently decided to make online poker illegal. These countries include Greece, the Poland, Romania and Cyprus. The Finland and Serbia who have their own regulations are also part of the list.

According to the information contained in the email sent by bwin.party, the reasons are "commercial reasons". The folks at bwin.party were not available to give more details.

The South American countries of Argentina, Brazil and Colombia will also be blocked.

The reasons that have motivated bwin.party are regulatory reasons and simple analysis costs. Bwin.party will likely focus its efforts towards the American market.
