PokerStars gets his licence in Belgium

Wednesday 8 February last, the Group Circus and PokerStars.com announced that www.pokerstars.be would receive its full license to operate in Belgium.

Supervised by the Belgian Commission of games, the Circus group and PokerStars partnership gave birth to a completely legal poker room to date in Belgium.

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that the Belgian Gaming Commission fight to prevent other poker rooms to offer poker to the Belgians, without obtaining licence.

In this regard, Etienne Marique, president of the Belgian Gaming Commission stated: "it is an important step towards the regulation of gambling online. Not only operators can now offer their services online in a regulated framework, but from an economic point of view, they will be able to develop in Belgium in an environment that protects better players than illegal sites - for example, excluded players will not be able to play at sites licensed and an average time loss rate is applicable to each player."

To date, in addition to PokerStars.com and pokerstars.NET, there are PokerStars.it, PokerStars.ee, PokerStars.dk and now PokerStars.be

In this regard, the online poker giant said: "PokerStars is proud to be part of the first licensed operators. We are delighted to offer a product with a local license to Belgian players through our partnership with Circus group. This brings us a little closer of our ultimate goal, which is to obtain licences on all regulated markets. We will work hand in hand with the Circus group and the Gaming Commission."
